Hussein Abdullahi is a Canadian Sports Journalist and Creative Producer based in Toronto. He is also the editor of his digital media outlet “TWINGQ”, which launched in 2016. Hussein’s nationally-distributed content network aims to provide a unique platform within the sports and entertainment world, catering to a wide audience of fans, athletes and sports enthusiasts.
Within a 4 year span, Hussein has covered the premier sporting events across Canada and the U.S. ,which featured some of the world’s top-tier athletes. A list of athletes include: R.J. Barrett Jr. , Jahvon Quinerly, Isaiah Washington, Naz Reid, Moses Brown, and Mohammad Bamba.
During his athletic career, Hussein was selected to the Ryerson Rams MBB team that recorded a historical 17-2 finish. In March of 2016, The Rams defeated arch rival Carleton Ravens to capture the school’s first OUA Wilson Trophy. The Rams concluded their season with a bronze medal finish in the National Championships.
In the summer of 2016, Hussein was selected to compete in the pro-am circuit featuring top leagues in North America (Nike Drew League, Dyckman League & OVOBOUNCE). Hussein had the chance to squared up against top pros and NBA Athletes. In addition to his unprecedented stream of success Hussein became the first Canadian collegiate player to represent Nike in 3 different leagues (Drew League, Crown League, Dyckman Basketball).
In 2017, Hussein founded the TWINGQ brand. His objective was to provide a platform that includes specialized services in Brand Development, Event Production, and Content Distribution. Through Hussein’s collection of experiences in the athletic field lead him to solidify long-lasting partnerships with emerging sports organizations and brands. As the impact for our sports continues to exceeds, Hussein is driven to apply his culture-approach towards the developing sports world.
